Andrew Pommier For Stussy

Andrew Pommier For Stussy 1

Stussy’s clothing has always been inspired by international musicians, skaters, DJs and artists leading in creating a unique streetwear label that provides a new modern platform for fashion and cultural expression. The latest edition to this revolution is a selection of limited tees designed exclusively for Stussy by four featured artists.

The prints are distinctively innovative and the first artist to step up to the creative brief is Canadian Andrew Pommier. You may recognize the name from his recent solo show at the Monster Children Gallery in Sydney where with his paintings and drawings took Australia by storm. Pommier has not only been busy creating illustrations of personified owls, grizzly bears and quirky live trees (perhaps influenced by his native Vancouver), he has also had an artist shoe series on adidas and two signature beer cans produced in Canada—every man’s dream.

Andrew Pommier is one artist hot on the lips of all emerging art scenes at the moment with his graphic inspired techniques that mines the world of his youth, taking his designs from canvas to skateboards and now to Stussy. Available in Stussy stores and selected retailers, these tees are the latest and most exciting bridge between the raw and modern aesthetic of international burgeoning artists such as Pommier and Stussy’s ability to provide it’s customer with inimitable garments with edge. With only 100 made in each print, these will be sure to go down in the contemporary ‘naughties’ pop culture history.
