Since its inception five years ago, SCRAPWORLD has positioned itself as the biggest live streetwear/sneaker event in Spain and arguably Europe. The founders, Carlos Martin, Miguel Antón and Juan Villegas, have turned this into a big moment for brands (both local and international) and streetwear enthusiasts to come together and enjoy a weekend of shows and business under one roof – almost like a European version of what Agenda used to be.

The event was held in the 6th Pavilion of IFEMA – Madrid’s largest fairgrounds. The strategic move to this location is a clear reflection that they mean business; they have been steadily outgrowing previous venues, and this year they moved into the 12000 sqm space and managed to fill it up. SCRAPWORLD gathered close to 13000 attendees looking to interact with brands and show off some of their best sneakers/outfits.

Big international brands like Porsche and adidas set up interactive booths exhibiting exciting items like the PUMA x Porsche collaborations, signed jerseys by Real Madrid players, and one big highlight: the full Y-3 x Real Madrid collaboration. Together with these big brands we also saw some new players claiming their space: We are not Friends, SSStuff, LATIGO, Cold Culture and Scuffers all presented new collections during the event.

SCRAPWORLD continues to stay true to their roots, even if they have grown so much, as they still have space reserved for a traditional sneaker market. They had tables set up where the usual suspects were seen: plenty of recent Nike collaborations, Jordan 4s and a growing share of adidas Gazelles, Campus and Sambas. There was a big representation of the Wales Bonner x adidas colab, and it’s no surprise that it was one of the most popular sneakers on the feet of attendees. However, what we did not expect was to see the Bathing Ape x Kanye West College Dropout or the highly controversial Lil Nas X x MSCHF 'Satan' making appearances at the reseller booths.

All in all, a great event.
