Nike Take a Patent Leather Shine to the Air Huarache ‘Dark Beetroot’
There are a lot of out there right now, and that count is going to increase by one with the imminent arrival of the ‘Dark Beetroot’ colour way for women. Like its recent counterpart, this is a pure lifestyle play that swaps out its usual leather overlays for something a bit more luxurious in the form of patent leather.
Nike’s product description confidently states that this Huarache is designed to ‘shimmer and shine — this sneaker is no side dish.’ The uppers are completely tonal in this ‘Dark Beetroot’ colour, which is a rather nice shade of maroon. Despite the monochromatic finish going on, the various materials, shapes and textures result in plenty of depth. There’s the flat sheen of the nylon and neoprene, while the aforementioned patent leather adds a shiny gloss. The laces are just flat, but the heel strap is matte, all in all resulting in an interesting package. Underfoot, the midsoles are slightly creamy off-white ‘Sail’ for that faux vintage look, and the outsoles are black, because let’s not go overboard here.
The Nike Air Huarache ‘Dark Beetroot’ releases directly from Nike on February 22. Remember, these are in women’s sizing, so size up accordingly.
