Kasina X Reebok Ventilator

South Korea’s premier sneaker and streetwear retailer has jumped on their opportunity to design a for the running model’s 25th anniversary. They’ve crafted a memorable and elaborate colourway that is influenced by a revered lost work of Michelangelo.

The Battle of Cascina took place in the 14th century between Pisan and Florentine forces in Italy, and Michelangelo was commissioned many years later to create a painting commemorating the conflict. Although the artwork was never fully completed, Kasina has employed the numerous recreations as source material for the colour mood of their Ventilator design. The black suede upper is overlaid with panelling clad in ghoulish grey camouflage, with bloodshed red splattered all across the piece. What began as a play on the phonetics of the retailer’s name has evolved into one of Kasina’s most striking colabs to date.

The Kasina x Reebok Ventilator will release on November 7th, 2015 at Kasina and at Reebok Certified Network retailers worldwide.
