Cut and Chrome: Nike’s GT Cut Returns in Sleek New Colourway
Nike continue to sharpen their performance playbook with a fresh new spin on one of their most dynamic hoop shoes – the Air Zoom GT Cut. This time, the Swoosh step out with a stealthy 'Black/Chrome' colorway, adding a dose of low-key luxury to a silhouette already favoured by guards and quick-cutters across the league.
Originally debuting in 2021, the GT Cut helped introduce Nike’s ‘Greater Than’ series – a high-tech lineup designed around specific playing styles. The Cut was all about stop-and-go movement: low to the ground, locked in laterally, and loaded with responsive cushioning.
NBA and WNBA stars like De’Aaron Fox and Sabrina Ionescu were early adopters, making the GT Cut a go-to for players who live off sharp changes of direction. A full-length Zoom Strobel stitched directly underfoot, combined with a drop-in React midsole and heel Zoom unit, gave the shoe a spring-loaded ride with elite court feel. Each update since has fine-tuned the formula, but the GT Cut’s DNA remains focused on speed, control, and shiftiness.
The new ‘Black/Chrome’ edition dials up the drama with a blackout mesh upper, metallic Swoosh hits, and chrome detailing on the heel. With performance tech still packed under the hood, this colourway is set to make a strong statement both on and off the court.
The Nike GT Cut 'Black/Chrome' lands later this year at Nike.com and select retailers. RRP is set at $180 USD.
