Beaverton-bred, Pittsburgh-bound: Nike's Air Max Plus Golf 'US Open' Pays Tribute to the Steel City

As the third major championship in the golfing diary cruises into view – after an exciting Masters and PGA Championship (how's that Scheffler threepeat!) – Nike are gearing up to crown the US Open with a special-edition Air Max Plus Golf release, as they have done for those two majors behind us.

This year's US Open will be held June 12–18 at Oakmont Country Club near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, whose golf course is considered the oldest of its rank (being 'absolutely top shelf', according to the sport's brass) in the United States. The Open will be hosted at the Club for an unprecedented tenth time – and that's an achievement the Swoosh is intent on celebrating.

The new Air Max Plus Golf pays homage to the historic venue nestled within the Steel City, offering a striking 'Metallic Silver/Light Smoke Grey/Photon Dusty' upper. You'll find a unique anvil logo on the tongue alongside the 'Forged For Victory' slogan – which also blazes up through the 'Bright Crimson/Safety Orange' insoles. The lateral heels are printed with a sneaky little stamp pointing to the brand's origins, while that fire-licked gradient leaps out of the shoe to add pops of colour at the spikeless outsole, midfoot plate, and Swoosh outline.
