The adidas Yeezy 500 Tactical Boot ‘Sand’ Comes Storming Back
Originally debuting last year in the ‘Utility Black’ rendition, the Tactical Boot has been sitting in limbo ever since CEO Bjørn Gulden stated the brand may not sell its remaining Yeezy inventory. With Team Trefoil again on its Yeezy stance this week, it looks like the Tactical Boot is finally slated to launch in its long-awaited ‘Sand’ colourway, with the model appearing in official imagery today.
Manufactured in a combination of ballistic mesh, suede and nubuck leather, the model extends the quasi-militant aesthetic lens of which has become signature for the Yeezy label – the muted hues once again reinforcing an arid palette. Underfoot, the label's lauded adiPrene-cushioning provides a stable and cushioned step
In terms of inspiration, the blueprints were relatively straight forward for the talented ex-Yeezy designer Cesar Idrobo. ‘It was a fairly simple and quick process,’ he told us back in September. 'There was no inspiration. It was more like an ongoing experiment of "what ifs", which is all it took to create the 500 Tactical Boot. I kept putting 500 soles in different military tactical boots until we nailed it.’
Currently, there ’s no official release details from adidas, but make sure to keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
