Known to many as the ‘Desert Rat’, the Yeezy 500 debuted in December of 2017 with a surprise launch via Yeezy Supply. First available in a ‘Super Moon Yellow’ colourway, the design could only be purchased as part of a bundled Yeezy outfit for $760 USD, but was subsequently released on its own in 2018. The design is a departure from previous adidas-produced Yeezy footwear thanks to its use of adiPrene cushioning — instead of the usual BOOST tech — and a ‘Feet You Wear’ sole unit from the adi archives.
