Shannon Abloh Assumes Roles at Virgil Abloh Securities

Shannon Abloh

Following the appointment of Ibrahim Kamara as Off-White's art and image director, the latest development to the legacy of the late Virgil Abloh has just been announced. As reported by The New York Times, Abloh's wife, Shannon Abloh will assume the role of chief executive and managing director of Virgil Abloh Securities.

Per a statement issued on Tuesday, Virgil Abloh Securities is set to, 'work in the disciplines and spheres of art, architecture, engineering, creative direction, artistic direction, industrial design, fashion design, music, film, writing and philanthropy.'

Despite rarely being in the limelight or the headlines, Shannon has been an Off-White mainstay, often operating behind-the-scenes. She's currently involved in the planning of the Virgil Abloh: 'Figures of Speech' exhibition as well as having also worked on Virgil's final show.

As of now it is not largely clear what exactly Virgil Abloh Securities will entail, however it has been stated that this 'creative corporation' will be 'spreading his ethos and essence globally.'

Louis Vuitton and Nike are also preparing to present Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh at Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse in New York City. Read up on the upcoming event series here.
