Gucci's fall 2022 ready-to-wear show went down earlier today and a star-studded audience that included Rihanna, A$AP Rocky and Jared Leto got a first look at a groundbreaking new partnership: Gucci x adidas.

In images shared by WWD, the partnership showed off everything from simple blazers to striking high-heeled shoes plus hybrid designs that blended tracksuits and formal suits and accessories like gloves, hats and scarves, all equipped with a special Gucci x adidas logo. Shortly after the show concluded, both Gucci and adidas Originals posted about the partnership on their Instagram pages, showing off details of select items but offering little more than a tease of what's to come.

adidas have long had a propensity to venture into the high fashion world: they've been collaborating with Prada since 2019, have been working with Stella McCartney and Jeremy Scott for years and also started the Y-3 label with Yohji Yamamoto all the way back in 2002, well before athletic brands collaborating with couture houses was common in the modern fashion lexicon. However, this ready-to-wear partnership with Gucci is a big and bold step, fusing them closely with one of the world's hottest high-end brands.

At the time of writing, official release details on the Gucci x adidas offerings have yet to be announced. However, it's likely to roll out this fall with the rest of Gucci's fall ready-to-wear collection.
