Strap in. We’re about to take a trip to the 6th Parallel! Six years after they sent the sneaker world on a journey to an ethereal universe with their , the Italian maestros of style at have plunged deep into a state of transcendence once again. Shrouded in shadow and confined only to constructs of the mind, the colours are transposed within this intangible domain and a society of unseen tribes reign supreme. Got it? Crimson transforms into cyan and light turns into dark, producing a more aggressive take on a coveted classic. Even in the 6th Parallel, Slam Jam have proven that the 5th Dimension is a thing of beauty – no matter what way you look at it.
The 6THPRLLL Project is described as a 'multidisciplinary project' that transcends your run-of-the-mill sneaker release. Packaged together with the all-new Gel-Lyte III – a negative interpretation of the 5th Dimension – is a 7" vinyl produced by Khaleb and DJ Hendrix with the 6THPRLL audio track, which serves as the soundtrack to a tie-in short film directed by Federico Zanghi (featured below). The Slam Jam x ASICS Gel Lyte III '6THPRLLL' will go on sale May 14th exclusively through and Slam Jam's bricks and mortar locations in Milan and Ferrara, packaged together with the 7" vinyl and a zine with 6THPRLLL visual imagery. The shoes will hit other select Friends&Family ASICS stockists on May 21st.
