After trekking to the top of the athletic fashion sneaker mountain with the Gel Lyte III in hand and a bit of help from superstar Sherpa Ronnie Fieg, ASICS have laid their stake down and are ready to bring back some big guns. We learned yesterday that the re-release of the bootie-licious Gel Lyte V is not far off, and now we’ve got some GT-Cools to drool over. The GT was originally unleashed in 1991 and we’re stoked to see it reproduced 22 years later, with split tongue wagging and ankle collar low riding. There’s no solid intel on a release date for this retro line, so stick with us and hit up SF Issue 27 to see more pics of ASICS’ new goods.
Update: Hot fact. When the ASICS GT-Cool first dropped in Australia in ’91 they came with complimentary cooler boxes. Now 22 years later and Aussies are set for the same cool release when these azure blue and mint hot ones drop at Highs & Lows, Laced, Prime and select Hype DC stores on October 1st.
