After Future Basketball Hall of Famer and WNBA legend Candace Parker announced that she’ll be retiring from professional basketball last week, she stated she’ll be staying busy with business endeavours off the court. On top of being one of TNT's best basketball analysts, she just added another prestigious title to her resume as the President of adidas Women’s Basketball.

Parker will oversee adidas's women’s basketball product and use her knowledge of the women’s game to grow and inspire the next generation of hoopers through storytelling and initiatives. She also will build on the adidas women’s basketball roster, which is currently headlined by the likes of Aliyah Boston, Chelsea Gray, Nneka Ogwumike, Kahleah Copper and more.

Parker and the Three Stripes go way back. She used to rock adidas Pro Model 2Gs at Naperville Central High School, before then committing to play for the late Pat Summitt and the Tennessee Lady Vols, who were an adidas school at the time. When she went #1 in the 2008 WNBA Draft, Parker signed with the brand and stayed loyal through her 17-year career. In 2021, she received her own signature 'Ace' collection.

‘Stepping into this new leadership role is a deeply personal next step in my journey with adidas,’ states Parker. ‘From high school to college to playing pro to now, this appointment by adidas symbolises a shared commitment to making impactful change and setting new benchmarks for the future of women's sports. It's not just about products; it's about fostering a movement focused on innovation, representation, and access.’

Congrats to Candace and we look forward to seeing what’s to come from adidas.
