Sneaker releases are tightly controlled affairs these days. Embargo dates are gospel and drops are timed to the minute. So it's cause for a double take when a one-off early release slips through the cracks.
Well, that’s exactly what happened in South Korea, when an store in Kwangju accidentally released the v2 ‘Sesame’ early. The latest v2, which is slated for global release in October or November, was quickly snapped up by punters eager to score the early cop.
Whether a missing link in the distribution chain caused the sneaks to be delivered early, or there was some major miscommunication regarding on-shelf dates is unclear but, either way, there’ll likely be hell to pay for someone.
