Where's the Wally 1? While it's pretty easy to get your hands on  updated Wally 3, we haven't seen the OG model since its initial mid-90s release.

Now, in true demonstration of girl power, women's apparel brands X-Girl and MadeMe have tracked down the elusive Wally 1 and they're bringing it back. We can't think of two brands better equipped to guide the thick-laced 1990s Vans archival classic around this crazy new world.

This is a colab made in skater girl heaven. X-Girl's tees, mini skirts and wide-leg pants catapulted them to cult status in the 90s. Kids star Chloë Sevigny was the face of the brand: you can't get a cooler 90s co-sign than that. X-Girl's since changed hands and is now based in Japan, but their aesthetic hasn't switched up one bit. And while MadeMe was only founded in 2007, the NYC brand has kept the Riot Grrrl flame alight.

The X-Girl and MadeMe Wally will come in black, deep red and light blue colourways. Sitting atop those distinctive oversized laces is a tongue patch emblazoned with the logos of both collaborators.

The colab aims to place women at the centre of skate culture. Vans have assembled this girl group to reignite that sense of fierce pride and power 90s girls experienced as they rocked bold and baggy skate wear on the sidewalks.

If you're tempted to take the MadeMe x X-Girl x Vans Wally to the skatepark or to the streets, it'll release with an apparel line on December 15 at retailers like Opening Ceremony.
