PUMA has teased with sneak peeks over the past few months, but these official shots of the upcoming SEGA x PUMA ‘Sonic’ and ‘Dr. Eggman’ RS-0s show us the collaboration in all its glory.
Paying homage to SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, the collaboration pushes the new RS-0 silhouette, which is part of PUMA’s revamped Running System family.
The RS-0 ‘Sonic’ takes cues from Sonic himself with a blue textured-suede upper echoing his fur, while the red outsole tips its hat to his sneakers. Metallic gold rings on the lace ends represent the gold rings players collect in the video game. There’s also a 16-bit grass print on heel, which rep the areas he guards, including the ‘Green Hill Zone’.
We also get our best look yet at the RS-0 ‘Dr. Eggman’, inspired by Sonic’s arch nemesis. There’s classy red patent leather with micro ventilation perforations on the upper and a debossed Formstripe. Dr. Eggman’s face and signature fireballs have been placed on heel while the gold rings return on the laces.
Releasing June 5 for $130 USD each, be sure to hit up PUMA’s official website and select retailers worldwide to cop the SEGA x PUMA RS-0 ‘Sonic’ and ‘Dr. Eggman’.
