Now that he's established himself as a clutch Celtic, Kyrie Irving can afford to take a few risks. Uncle Drew loves switching things up – so much so that he wore a crazy PE mash-up of his three Nike signature shoes to pump up his confidence during his debut game with team Boston.
Mr Flat Earth has released hybrids before, but they're tame in comparison to the new Nike 'What the Kyrie' S1 Hybrid. Official images from Nike have confirmed the release of the debut S1 Hybrid colourway, which is yet to receive an official name.
With this number, Kyrie's thrown absolutely everything into the pot and stirred it up. The hybrid sports a mix of brown, orange and blue, plus it's coated with seemingly every material Nike had on hand (check out the synthetic webbing, denim heel, silky lining, and canvas strap that lie atop mesh with fused overlays). Flywire lace loops lock down this crazy concoction. It all makes for one hectic Irish stew. Is Irving coming for Chef Curry's pot?
Elements of all previous Kyrie signatures can be found this model. Catch the the midsole and textured heel of the Kyrie 1, the upper ankle strap of the Kyrie 2, and the toe unit of the Kyrie 3. Irving's signature and some of his in-game stats are printed on the shoe.
Several leakers, including gc911, have also been circulated pics of a blue Duke University inspired S1 Hybrid – check out our gallery for the images.
No release date has been set for the Nike S1 Hybrid, but we'll be sure to keep you posted once this busy beater hits retail.
