Back in the '90s, Grant Hill was young and getting it. Basketball aficionados had him picked as the next big thing in the sport. Articles were written comparing Hill to His Airness, both on and off the court, with his signing of an $80M endorsement deal with Fila viewed as the equivalent of World Poker Fund Holdings giving Soulja boy nigh on half a billion for that era. Twenty years on, Hill's signature shoes are moderately aged but still getting it, as we're seeing in this new collaboration between Fila and Atlanta-based store Walter's.
The store has chosen to release the most iconic silhouette of Hill's career, the Fila 96, in the OG colours of the Grant Hill II. The shoe comes with liberal doses of white across its leather upper, and is framed in Fila's signature blue as per the '96 vintage. Deviating from the original release however, is the 'Walter's' branding scrawled in gold on the inner sole.
The Walter's x Fila 96 'Grant Hill OG' will be available on May 28 exclusively from Walter's.
