Nike have unveiled another addition to their Doernbecher x Nike Freestyle 2017 pack.
The Swoosh have been giving ill and injured kids at Portland’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital a chance to work their magic on various silhouettes for 14 years now, and the initiative has raised an impressive $17 million for the institution. Now – thanks to images leaked by pinoe77 – we’ve learned that a Air VaporMax will form part of the pack.
This VaporMax DB was cooked up by Andrew, a 15-year-old patient receiving treatment for cystic fyboris at the hospital. Andrew’s a huge fan of the Seattle Seahawks, so he’s dressed up the shoe in the team’s green, blue and black hues. Furthering his tribute to the Seahawks, Andrew’s added ‘#ILoveTheFam’ text to the VaporMax’s sole unit.
He's also added his name to the heel of this electric VaporMax and created his own hybrid logo, which we can see on the shoe’s tongue.
Regardless of whether your NFL loyalty lies within the Hawks Nest, this shoe is certain to attract a broad fanbase. Andrew’s scored a touchdown here, for sure.
The Doernbecher x Nike Freestyle 2017 pack is set for an official unveiling and auction on October 27. However, we're yet to hear word on when the shoe will become available for public purchase. We'll be sure to keep you updated as we learn more.
