Shanghai based designer Kim Kiroic has given a squad of Vans classic silhouettes an avian influenced makeover in celebration of China’s Year of the Rooster. Taking direct inspiration from the lifecycle of a rooster to create a range of unique treatments. The collection begins with an Old Skool made in an egg-shell toned natural leather and is joined by a platform-soled Authentic with a yellow flannel upper, like the feathers of a baby chick. The pack also includes a white leather Slip-On with a fringe like a rooster’s tail, while the Mid Skool has a bumpy textured heel like the rooster’s comb and is complemented by another plaited leather Authentic also in a tri-colour combo.
The Vans Year of the Rooster Collection will be available from select stockists from December 16.
