Vans’ mission to conquer all terrains has led them to their latest innovation – the versatile UltraRange. The idea behind the model was sparked by pro surfer Pat Gudauskas, who suggested that Vans’ Sidestriped sneakers get a little more adventurous. In response, the skate brand made a shoe you can wear skating down the boulevard or mountainboarding through a gully.
Vans’ heritage is obvious in the design – the low profile and Sidestripe are welcoming and familiar – but the shoe’s chassis has been overhauled for the purposes of off-road exploration. The first-ever co-moulded midsole has been tooled to channel Vans’ OG waffle sole, while UltraCush technology provides the comfort essential for wandering in the wild, and the chunky reverse waffle lug ensures steady footing on even the most precarious paths.
The Vans UltraRange will be available on July 15 from select Vans accounts.
