Vans Pays Homage to its BMX Heritage
Back in the late 80s, broke through the BMX ring with the — a popular model for riders with its much-needed ankle protection and coverage. As the first footwear brand to support BMX, Vans has developed a capsule paying homage to the sport’s roots.
The five-piece 'BMX Checkerboard' pack dresses the Sk8 Hi, and in retro-inspired colourways. Among the vintage yellow-blue and aqua-brown is an ode to the OG red and navy, developed by Dogtown legends Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta. The iconic checkerboard pattern is featured on each model, whether it be the quarter panels on the Sk8 Hi or outsoles on the Era and Old Skool.
Expect to see the BMX Checkerboard Pack in Vans retail stores and at the beginning of June!
