The seemingly omnipresent jazz stripe from the Vans Old Skool is mixing things up a bit. This removable jazz stripe is decked out in a black and white version of the iconic Vans checkerboard print, and when you rip it off you’ll spot an orange and white version permanently attached to the shoe.
The jazz stripe, also known as the ‘Sidestripe’, has been around for just over four decades now, after starting its life as a random doodle by Vans Founder Paul Van Doren. From those humble beginnings, the stripe has become synonymous with the Vans brand, particularly in recent years as it’s made a strong resurgence.
So, if you wish you had a choice of stripe colours on your Old Skools, this latest silhouette is perfect for you. And there’s even two different colourways to choose from: black or white. These are available now from select stockists, including Billy’s in Tokyo.
