UPDATE: Vans are going all out for their 50th anniversary. On top of the three bold make-ups we showcased previously, Vans have revealed a plethora of additional footwear as part of the 50th Anniversary Edition Van Doren Approved Collection. The collection of heritage-themed make-ups was hand-picked by Steve Van Doren, son of Vans founder Paul Van Doren. Inspired by a classic shot of Van Doren from the mid 90s – featuring the Vans icon buried under an assortment of releases from throughout the brand's history – the collection revives vintage colourways and prints from throughout the brand's history. Accompanying the earlier-shown releases are additional colourways of the Era, Slip-On and Sk8-Hi, as well as three Chukka Boot reissues. The footwear is also complemented by an apparel collection of t-shirts, caps and backpack, all inspired by heritage prints and designs.
The full Vans 50th Anniversary Edition Van Doren Approved Collection is available to purchase right now through Vans online and select Vans stockists.
Vans are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, and that’s one heck of a milestone. To keep the party pumping they’ve released a new 50th Anniversary pack, adding to this year’s already crazy list of releases. The man himself, Steve Van Doren, has had a hand in the creation of the pack – producing a boldly colour-blocked trio of classics. The Era, Sk8-Hi and Slip-On have been given similar colourways – each made up from red, blue and yellow canvas with the obligatory checkerboard in the mix. You have to admit, Vans is still looking pretty good for its age.
