Time to give a warm welcome to the newest member of the BOOST family: the adidas SolarBOOST. The performance-running shoe combines adidas' marquee tech with new NASA-inspired engineering, but it also incorporates killer street-ready style — making it perfect for those who prefer the stroll.
Complementing the BOOST midsole is adidas’ new Tailored Fiber Placement technology. Inspired by NASA tech, it's a data-driven construction intended to provide the most precise upper possible. The brand’s Parley material is also woven into the fabric.
‘We knew it was time to challenge the status quo of a performance running shoe,’ says Chris Ekman from adidas' running product team. ‘To create a lightweight, supportive, and comfortable silhouette for every runner, we took inspiration from the automotive and aerospace industries and discovered Tailored Fiber Placement, a precision manufacturing technology that allowed us to stitch materials together more precisely than ever before.’
The adidas Solarboost will debut in men's (black) and women's (blue) colourways on May 17 at adidas.com and other select retailers. A worldwide release will follow on June 1.
