Ubiq X Vault By Vans (Holiday Capsule)
gets a new partner in Philly shoe store Ubiq here and the resulting creations have a definite Japanese flavour. The duo called upon the skills of renowned artist Hiroshi Hirakawa and his Three Tides tattoo shop in Osaka for this piece, modifying some of Hirakawa's artwork and slathering it across a Sk8-Hi LX and Era LX. The shoes feature ornate illustrations of a samurai carrying Vans cargo as he fights off a dragon in the sky – it's as cool as it sounds. These are some real story telling shoes, so if you're gonna get 'em make sure you do your Japanese mythology research so you've got some responses when the conversations start up. The Vault by Vans x UBIQ capsule will be available in-store and online from on November 9, 2013.
