The release of the original NMD almost seems like ancient history – especially in the churn and burn cycle of sneaker releases – but the revolutionary adidas franchise is only just over a year old. Following numerous NMD_R1 colourways and City Sock iterations, the Three Stripes have started retooling the initial silhouette for a second showing. The NMD_R2 sees the sneaker ditch the dual-shank midsole configuration of its predecessor, instead opting for a single subtle plug on the medial heel flank. Pushing Primeknit to new frontiers, the snug upper bears a diagonal dashed pattern from toe to collar. Following a selection of leaked colourways in subdued hues, it seems adidas will be releasing two primary coloured combos. Recent Instagram posts show the newest nomad made up in both blue and red with tonal welded stripes above a pure white Boost midsole.
No word on an official release date for the adidas NMD_R2 in red or blue as yet. Stay tuned.
