Frumpy sneakers, bum-bags and skinny sunglasses are everywhere as all things 90s consume fashion. It makes sense that king of 90s fashion, Tommy Hilfiger, should want to fan the flames.
To the delight of many, Tommy's 1997 sneaker – originally known as the Fly (for its fly-closure tongue) – is coming back. Relaunching as the Icon, the heavily branded sneaker's design holds fast to the 1997 original: unzipped, the tongue reveals Hilfiger’s logo, which also appears on the toe of the outsole.
We’ll state the obvious: these will be crazy popular. Pencil in May 8 and keep your eye on Tommy Hilfiger’s website and stores.
