The recent revival of the Nike Air Span II was a bit of surprise. The running shoe hasn't been seen much since its 1990 release, and was largely unknown to many. Recently, it has been gaining traction, releasing in a bunch of pretty dope colourways, but it is yet to experience its watershed moment.
Enter: Patta. The Dutch streetwear darlings have the Midas touch when it comes to sneaker colabs, and this might be the one that cements the Air Span II among the hype-worthy.
Though a mostly white and grey affair, these are anything but boring. Splashes of Infrared on the outsole, eyelets and tongue lining keep them wearable, but remind us that these shoes were definitely born in the 90s. An embroidered mini Swoosh at the toe, Patta branding on the tongue tab and a Linda van Deursen-designed box are the cherries on the top of this already sweet Span.
Unfortunately, for all those who have been converted to the Air Span II, these will most likely remain a friends and family release.
