Jordan Brand continues to push out releases that pay homage to players’ humble beginnings. Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Carmelo Anthony is the latest player on the brand’s roster to receive a celebratory release — a tribute to his days at Syracuse University.
The trophy-inspired Air Jordan 9 references Melo’s freshman year at Syracuse, in 2003, when he led the team to its first and only National Championship title. The white upper features gold and brown accents that create an earthy contrast, but the focal point is Melo’s player number — ‘15’ — printed on heel.
There’s no official release details yet for the ‘Melo’ Air Jordan 9. Stay tuned to SNKRS and our website for more info.
