New Orleans skate shop Humidity have teamed up with Nike SB to celebrate the Big Easy's tricentennial. The NOLA locals have created a bronzed Dunk High make-up nicknamed 'Trumpet', which honours the musical heart of their hometown, aka the birthplace of jazz.
The Dunk's lustrous exterior faithfully mimics the sheen of its namesake, while its purple velvet interior resembles the inner lining of an instrument case. The red bow tie on the tongue is a nod to arguably the most influential jazz musician of all-time: New Orleans—born trumpeter Louis Armstrong. Completing the musical theme, an arrangement of musical notes is printed beneath the translucent outsoles.
While these mightn't look terribly skate-able, the Humidity crew refute that appearance, having taken to Instagram to challenge Nike SB pro Paul Rodriguez to perform a 'back nose blunt' in his early promo pair.
