The Story Behind Travis Scott's Green AF-1s

When Travis Scott’s childhood friend Chase B shared a shot of the rapper’s recent Air Force 1 colab in green, many were puzzled.

Was it an upcoming colab? A sample? We speculated that it might be a friends and family release, but it turns out it’s none of the above.

Highnobiety were so curious that they got in touch with a Nike rep, who confirmed the sneakers aren’t destined for retail: ‘'I confirm that Travis Scott and his team customised their personal pairs at the Maker Space in Chicago. Not to be released in the market at the moment.’

Diving deeper, redditors have noted it’s a custom option no one else in the Maker Space was privy to. The green dye was special request. 

It’s not the answer we wanted, but it’s nice to know the colourway’s origin story regardless.
