If you’ve been a Nike fan for longer than the last couple of hours, you’ve undoubtedly learned that the Swoosh love to mix and match different features from their long catalogue of designs. Whether it be soles and uppers, Air unit technology or design motifs, this monster-of-Frankenstein process that they’ve tried and tested over the course of sneaker history has resulted in some of the community’s most highly regarded silhouettes, and has now given us the Nike Air MX-720-818.
This latest hybrid-esque release from the Oregon powerhouse takes design cues from the Air Max 98 and the Air Max 720 Air Unit. From the mudguard up, the stitching has been placed to reference the multi-panelling and diagonal lining of the 98’s upper. Additional pull tabs have been added to the upper for a utilitarian look, with contrasting orange accents to really catch your eye.
The Nike Air MX-720-818 is set to release soon, so make sure your trigger finger is ready.
