The Nike Air More Uptempo Gets Draped in the Italian Flag

The Azzurri not making the World Cup sent Italy (and my father) into a kind of perpetual mourning. Our family home, once a hive of activity, was somnolent. The blinds were drawn all day and the dog (Gigi) sat in the kennel for two and a half weeks. But it looks like we’re getting a consolation prize.

Scottie Pippen’s Nike is getting the Italian treatment, with the iconic silhouette dressed in green, white and red. Let’s just pool all our national hope in Italian-American coach Mike D’Antoni — we’ve got Melo now so the Championship is ours (read: sarcasm).
