Hybrid models continue to run amok in Nike’s arsenal, none more prevalent than the VaporMax tech gracing the soles of several vintage silhouettes. But it’s not the only mutation present on the shelves.
Thanks to Sean Wotherspoon’s wildly successful Air Max 1/97 mashup, the Beaverton Brand have started revisiting a mould originally stifled when it dropped 26 years ago: the Air Max 90/1. Already dropping in ‘University Red’, the suede-dipped Air Max 90/1 ‘Purple Basalt’ is set to drop next month. The silhouette rocks a tonal purple build broken up by a black outsole and mid-foot swoosh.
The Nike Air Max 90/1 ‘Purple Basalt’ debuts September 1 for $140.
