Back in 2013, Nike released a pack of silver and gold women's Air Max 1s that looked as if they had come straight from the smelters. When the gold-rush-like dash to cop a pair finally passed, the Swoosh did what they do best and replicated the motif over a variety of other silhouettes including the Air Jordan 6, Benassi Solarsoft Slide, and Tiempo 94.
Now, as this great decade of sneakers comes to an end, the ‘Liquid Metal’ make-over is set to make another comeback on the all-time favourite Air Force 1 SP. Baring a strong resemblance to the glossy finish of patent leather, each pair shines brightly in its respective ore. Sock liners and laces have been tonally matched to carry the strong colour-blocking, while the all-white midsole completes the clean makeup.
The Beaverton refinery is set to drop these on December 13, so make sure you’re ready and waiting to cop a pair from Nike.
