We’ve seen plenty of ‘dad shoe’ action over past year, but Nike and designer John Elliott aren’t forgetting the moms. The new Nike M2K Tekno takes the revitalised Air Monarch silhouette and tailors it for the ladies seeking that normcore steez.
First seen at John Elliott’s Fall/Winter 2018 show during New York Fashion Week, the M2K Tekno is typified by its hybrid Monarch-style midsole and upper, while the outsole stays true to its muse.
The ‘Phantom’ colourway features a sail upper and midsole with multiple overlaid leather panels and Swooshes on the upper. The pop of colour comes from the heel, where bright orange plastic detailing completes the aesthetic. Large orange Swooshes line the insoles, while a black and grey outsole keeps things deliciously daggy.
The Nike M2K Tekno is set to drop in various colourways across the coming months. The ‘Phantom’ iteration will release May 19 on Nike.com for $100 USD.
