Balenciaga’s ridiculous looking and ridiculously successful Triple S has a new admirer — a ‘free spirited’, ‘curious’ and ‘daring' brand by the name of Ash. And, since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Ash has decided to rip off the Triple S.
Ash's new Addict takes Demna Gvasalia’s design and, well, not much more — they just take it. Slight alterations have been made (there are stars on the arch supports and panelling differs), but overall the effect is of the same derivative nature as producers making a ‘Kanye type beat’.
Still, we’re convinced that Demna’s design is nothing more than a troll that he’ll reveal as performance art in the years to come. So if someone else is looking to cash in on the tomfoolery, we can’t be mad.
