After 13 years in the NBA, Chris Paul is known for having one of highest basketball IQs in the game. He also knows a thing or two about how to design a signature shoe — he has 11 of them to his name. The new Jordan CP3.XI is a culmination of all that experience.
‘I’ve been doing this for a number of years now, and after learning about all of the tech and as I’ve gotten older, I now want my shoe to get lower and to be wearable right out of the box,’ says Paul. ‘Now, everything is about speed and traction.’
CP3 brings his five essential elements for the perfect basketball shoe to his latest signature: an internal lacing system with a midfoot strap for stability, a solid rubber outsole for traction, Zoom Air bags in the forefoot and heel for cushioning, a TPU plate under the lateral forefoot for quickness, and an exploded CP3 logo on the heel for added ‘personality’ factor.
With the Houston Rockets sitting pretty atop the NBA’s Western Conference, you can expect the CP3.XI to get plenty of wear into the season's back half.
'I expect to really see the benefit from this in the Playoffs, where the intensity of the game revs up just a little bit,' he says.
The Jordan CP3.XI releases in April at select Jordan Brand retailers and Nike.com. We’ll update you when the specifics are known.
