Much like the popular 88 Racer before it, Jordan Brand’s new 89 Racer looks to incorporate elements from past classics into a performance-focussed low-top runner. The muse on this occasion is unmistakable, with the Air Jordan 4 ‘White Cement’ inspiring the runner’s debut colourway.
Jordanheads will appreciate the familiar tongue tag, triangular side straps, heel tab, mesh window on the mid panels, cement print, and lace waffles. Down below, we get a midsole borrowed from a modern classic — the Flyknit Racer — with a grey outsole capping off this inaugural release.
Official pics have leaked thanks to US11, but we’re yet to get confirmation and a release date from Beaverton. We’ll keep you posted.
