PENSOLE Footwear Design Academy is dropping a limited edition ASICS GEL-180 sneaker created by its students.
Releasing exclusively via Foot Locker in the US, the ‘Fresh Up’ GEL-180 was the winning design from a contest between PENSOLE pupils, which began back in 2016.
PENSOLE Master Class designers Brady Corum and Vince Lebon designed the hip hop inspired GEL-180, which blends textures from microphones, turntables and graffiti. The GEL-180’s athletic silhouette is highlighted by a bold yellow and black ASICS logo on the medial side, with mismatched gold and blue outsoles contrasting white midsole and upper. Vibrant accents also appear at the toe, the air pocket, tongue, pull tab and sock-liner.
Foot Locker documented the design process in a web series — check out the first episode below. The Foot Locker X PENSOLE X ASICS GEL-180 will be available at select Foot Locker locations globally on February 24.
