Space boot design has stuck to its space guns and evolved very little over the past half century. Until now.
Reebok just announced their Space Boot SB-01 (we recommend a demotion for whoever named it, and would like to let Reebok know we were thinking something more along the lines of Big Bang Doppler Bolide Supernova Comet Stomper). The boot is stacked with cutting-edge tech – as you’d expect – such as Reebok’s Floatride Foam, an exceptionally lightweight material (50 per cent lighter than EVA) that offers ultra-responsive cushioning so zero gravity will feel like zero-zero gravity.
In what will undoubtedly be the most fashion-forward space mission to date, astronauts signed up for 2018’s jaunt aboard the new Boeing CST-100 Starliner will rock the boots with matching space suits en route to the International Space Station.
