War is a catastrophic human undertaking. There is no nice way to put it: men and women sacrificing their life in the name of freedom is not easy to stomach. Hitting a little more close to home, the crew at Sneaker Politics, whose stores are located in the fine lands of Louisiana, aim to remember those gallant souls that perished at the battle of New Orleans over 200 years ago. A defining factor in the Americans defeat of the British was the use of massive artillery cannons that lined the NOLA fields, painted in sky blue in order to camouflage the weapon into the sky. Inspired by these near-three tons instruments of death that to this day have withstood the tests of time are on display in Louisiana, SP have created an honorary edition of the Saucony Courageous, armoured in the same sky blue tone. Each pair sold will come with the same commemorative box (as pictured in the gallery above), three sets of laces and three stickers (also pictured). Additionally, the first 50 customers to purchase the 'Battle of Nola' Saucony Courageous from the SP online store will receive the three gold pins. Find them releasing from 12 Noon EST on October 30.
