Ronnie Fieg Previews Kith's Colab With Scottie Pippen

Kith Air Maestro 2Kith Air Maestro 2

Kith's Ronnie Fieg has taken to Instagram to tease the brand's latest offering, a purple-hued Nike Air Maestro II. The reworking of the 1994 silhouette comes after a busy few weeks for Kith, who have just announced separate collaborative ventures with LeBron James and Vogue Magazine. Producing the model with help from NBA legend Scottie Pippen, this purple Air Maestro continues Kith's strong run of colabs.

Pippen donned the Air Maestro II in his 1994 All-Star Game outing, where he was voted the game's MVP. The shoe was brought back as a retro in 2004 but it struggled to sell even with heavy discounts. This time around, thanks to a little Kith magic, the Maestro looks set for a more successful release. To improve the shoe's wearability, Kith have swapped out its original red and black Bulls-themed palette in favour of premium purple suede. This colourway has just as much significance for Pippen as the 1994 edition, with its purple tones borrowed from the small forward's University of Central Arkansas jersey. With its velcro straps and subtle Kith and Nike co-branding, this is a shoe that'll surely fly off shelves.

Kith are yet to announce a release date for the Air Maestro II, but Fieg has hinted that the shoe will form part of the brand's New York Fashion Week presentation on September 7. We'll be sure to keep you updated with details of the drop as they come in.
