UPDATE: Riccardo Tisci's avant-garde reworking of the classic Chelsea boot, the NikeLab Air Zoom Legend, has returned. Following an initial drop in super-tight numbers through NikeLab 21 Mercer back in November, the shoe is set to receive a wider release this week through NikeLab accounts globally. Two colourways will be hitting stores – the debut colourway, which features a mesh heat-welded upper and colourful heel, and a simple black and white jacquard make-up that brings the design more in line with your traditional Chelsea boot. Both designs feature Swoosh and R.T. co-branding.
Borrowing the sole unit from the Nike Aqua Boot, the shoe is said to be inspired by the city of Rio de Janeiro, notably its curvy sidewalks and merging of ocean and land.
The Riccardo Tisci x NikeLab Air Zoom Legend will be available December 8, exclusively through NikeLab stores and NikeLab online.
Italian designer, Riccardo Tisci, has previously collaborated with Nike on a selection of fashion-forward projects. Now the pair join forces once more to craft the Nike Air Zoom Legend, a futuristic take on the iconic Chelsea boot. The shoe places a classic high-cut silhouette with elastic sides, atop a technically advanced sole unit. Tisci commented that special attention was placed on the design of the heel which protrudes from the midsole in an angled cap. Details are a little unclear as to all of the technical specs, but are bound to be clarified in the coming weeks.
The Riccardo Tisci x NikeLab Air Zoom Legend will drop in two colourways exclusively at NikeLab's Soho store on November 11.
