The ‘Black Cement’ Air Jordan 3 is one of the greatest Jays of all time. And we don’t say that lightly. As the first Jordan designed by Tinker Hatfield, the sneaker played a big role in keeping a young Michael Jordan with Nike. It was the first Jay to feature Visible Air, birthed an ad series with Mars Blackmon, and was the colourway MJ wore when he was awarded MVP of the 1988 All-Star game in front of his hometown.
A true retro is almost unheard of; however, to celebrate the model’s 30th anniversary, Jordan Brand are rereleasing the sneaker with rare ‘Nike Air’ branding on the heels — something we haven’t seen since 2001.
It’s the type of release you’ll regret sleeping on, so we’re here with a reminder: the Black Cement Air Jordan 3 retro lands on February 17. Head over to Foot Locker on drop day and step into history.
