The 1992 US men's Olympic basketball team is known as the 'Dream Team' for a reason. With the likes of Jordan, Pippen, Ewing, Drexler, Barkley and Bird uniting for the glory of the Stars and Stripes, the gold medal was a lock before Barcelona's Olympic flame was even lit.

However, of Team USA's 12 elite ballers, one name hasn't quite enjoyed the same prominence as the others in the decades since: Laettner. When it came to selecting the squad's college player, it boiled down to a choice between Duke's Christian Laettner and LSU's . Laettner was chosen and secured his place in the history books as part of the greatest basketball team (some go so far as to say the greatest sports team) in history. The call left The Big Aristotle understandably 'pissed off' at the time.

Seemingly inspired by that frustration, look set to bring us a bittersweet rendition of the  based on the controversial snub. In an apparent 'what if' depiction of how the '92 sneaker would have been decorated for the Games, the sneaker features Team USA's red, white, navy and gold, and a lustrous gradient midsole fade. Considering The Big Shamrock didn't made the cut, his name has been crossed out on the heel and the sneaker invaded by blue, black and purple neoprene – an alleged nod to the Nike Air Flight Huarache worn by Laettner on court.

No release details for the Reebok Shaq Attaq 'Olympic Snub' have been announced at this stage, but you can count on us not to snub you.
