Some will look at the Pyer Moss x Reebok DMX Fusion Experiment and think ‘ooo, yah, cool.’ Others will look and think only, ‘wtf is that tripping hazard?’ But once you know what inspired the sneaker's design, it’s easier to digest.
While it looks like a Desert Rat caught in a net, the DMX Fusion Experiment by Pyer Moss designer Kerby Jean-Raymond draws inspiration from airdrop containers used to deliver humanitarian aid. That explains the all-white colourway, perforations, and ample toggles, tabs, cords and laces.
We must admit, excessive attachments aside, Jean-Raymond’s reinterpretation of Reebok’s classic DMX Run 10 looks strangely appealing rinsed in its new contemporary aesthetic.
