PUMA's Latest Palace Guard Pays Tribute to Detroit's 'Bad Boys'

Date: April 01 2019

By: Boon Mark Souphanh

The PUMA OG Palace Guard marked its return with a classic Detroit Pistons colourway, and now the Big Cat are set pay tribute to the franchise’s most infamous era.

Dubbed the ‘Bad Boys’, the latest iteration nods to the moniker of battle-hardened Pistons team of the late 80s and early 90s. Spearheaded by the likes of Rick Mahorn, Isiah Thomas and Dennis Rodman, the ‘Bad Boys’ carved out a reputation for being the toughest team in the league, winning back-to-back championships in 1989 and 1990.

Wearing a tri-colour look with black, white and orange, the sneaker is stamped with a skull and crossbones motif — the original logo of the Bad Boys. Trinomic cushioning technology, a polyurethane midsole, and a moulded sockliner headline the performance perks.

Be sure to hit up select PUMA locations like COUTIÉ on April 1 to cop for $110.
