Premier x Saucony Release Runner Inspired by Waterproof Matches
Michigan footwear retailer Premier has rekindled its relationship with to create a runner inspired by waterproof survival matches. Together, they've reworked the Freedom Runner, a model well known in the running community but not so familiar in the streetwearsphere.
However, this new colab brings some serious heat to the underrated silhouette. Weather-treated leather and suede in fiery hues are a clear nod to the colab's source of inspo. The Freedom Runner is known for its EVERUN Continuous Cushioning, which is apparently twice as flexible as EVA foam and three times less temperature sensitive. According to Premier, it'll keep your foot warmer than other models on the market. It comes in some pretty hot packaging too; the shoebox is basically a giant matchbox.
As a result, this seems to be the perfect shoe for the fashion-conscious survivalist. If you're really dedicated to weathering out the apocalypse, you'll surely find a use for the match-themed packaging. Get these from Premier's on November 18 (perhaps grab a few pairs and stash them away with your collection of soup cans...).
